All About Me

If you’re reading this, hi and welcome! My full name is Luis Fernando Pacheco-Lopez, but I prefer to go by Luis Lopez, as it’s a bit easier for many people to pronounce. I was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and later moved to the mainland with my family. I’ve moved and traveled quite a bit, and those experiences—along with being a first-generation student, navigating financial hardship, and working through family and life challenges—have shaped the person I am today. Living through those seasons is what inspired me to pursue my education and build a career that allows me to move beyond the low-income and unstable circumstances I once knew.
 

Growing up in a Latino Christian household came with its own unique challenges, especially as someone who is Christian, gay, and Latino. I’ve gone through a great deal of personal growth and still consider myself a work in progress. Life continues to teach me new lessons, and while it hasn’t always been easy, I’m grateful for my upbringing and the resilience it helped me build. I’m excited to see the kind of person and professional I continue to grow into.
 

I come from a big family—nine children in total, including me. The attention was rarely centered on me, but I was often looked to by my parents, family friends, and close acquaintances because I had to take on adult responsibilities at a young age. While there are moments when I wish I could have had a more carefree childhood, I’ve made peace with that part of my story. Growing up quickly taught me responsibility, empathy, and problem-solving, and I’m still learning from those experiences today.
 

At my core, I’m a positive, people-focused person. I try not to bring gloomy or negative energy into any space I walk into. I genuinely enjoy connecting with others and feel fulfilled when I can help someone smile, feel supported, or find a solution to a problem. My extroverted side pairs well with my marketing and management background, but I also deeply value my personal time. I use it to reflect, slow down, pay attention to details, and refocus on what needs to be done next.
 

Above all, I’m committed to becoming a better version of myself each day. I want to remain ambitious and humble, always open to learning and ready for the next challenge. More than anything, I hope to become the kind of adult I wish I would have had growing up.
